Hi everyone, this week I thought I’d update you on the author goals I set way back in January 2023. How I’m doing with them all, how many I’ve met or whether I’ve got any goals left to meet now we’ve hit September. 1. Publish my 3rd novel in my series Excitingly, just over two months ago, I hit this goal! My small press published The Reckoning of Rheged, back at the end of June. The publication process ended up being
April is here, so I thought it would be a good time to tell you about Camp NaNoWriMo and give you an author update. Camp NaNoWriMo If you don’t know, Camp NaNoWriMo is a flexible version of November’s NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). While in November the general aim is to write 50k of a new novel, in Cam5p NaNo writers can choose their own goals and continue to work on existing projects. For April Camp NaNo, my goal is to
Hi everyone, Happy New Year! It’s been a while. I thought coming up with my 2023 author goals would be a great way to kick-start this year’s blog. So, without further ado, here are my goals for this year: 1. Have the 3rd Novel in my series Published The sharp-eyed among you may have noticed my first goal has carried on from last year! I’d hoped the 3rd novel in my series would be published in 2022, but the publication process
Happy New Year, everyone! It seems fitting to do my first blog post of 2022 about my upcoming goals for the year. So without further ado, here’s what I’d love to be doing in 2022. 1. Have my 3rd Historical Fiction Novel published My first goal for 2022 is to have my third Celtic era novel published! I submitted it to them back in March and it was accepted at the end of May 2021. I don’t have a provisional date
This week on the blog, I thought I’d have a look at my goals! It’s almost at the end of 2021 (this year seems to have both sped by and lasted forever). So I thought it would be good to check with the goals I set at the end of the year. Here were my goals for 2021: 1. Proofread my 3rd historical fiction novel and get it ready for submission I’m so excited to say I hit this goal! I
Thought this week I’d give an update on my writing and how I’m doing with the goals I set back in January. It’s been a busy three months! 1. Proofread my 3rd historical fiction novel This was my first, main goal. Most of 2020 was spent deep into the edits of my 3rd novel. For a while I even had ‘editor’s block’. By January 2021, I knew it just needed a final proofread, to get it as ready as possible for
Hi everyone! Gosh, this year is flying by. I hope everyone and their families are safe with everything that’s been happening with the virus and the lockdown. I apologise that it has been such a long time since my last blog, but I thought it would be a good time to update you. Back in January, I set 4 goals for 2020: – Finish first round of edits for my third historical fiction novel – Finish 1st draft of my new
It’s been a while since I last blogged, again! I think everything with the virus has made routines difficult, as I’m sure it has for all of us. I hope you are coping with lockdown okay and staying safe and well. It’s been very helpful for me to have the distraction of Camp NaNoWrimo. It’s the more flexible version of the main NaNoWriMo event that happens in November (with participants writing 1,667 words a day and aiming to have a 50K
Hi everyone! Hope all of you are well and none of you have come down with the dreaded coronavirus. I thought it would be a good time to update you with my writing goals so far this year, especially now one of those goals has been met. Last Tuesday, I finally finished my first series of edits on my third historical fiction novel, following ‘The Boy from the Snow’ and ‘The Veiled Wolf’. I actually finished writing the first draft of
This week I thought I’d give you a bit more detail about my novel Lottie’s Locket, especially since on Monday 20th I signed a contract with Olympia for them to publish it – rather exciting! Lottie’s Locket is a fantasy/murder mystery for a Middle Grade (MG) audience. MG, broadly speaking, is in between children’s fiction and Young Adult fiction (12-17). I think it will be on the upper end of MG, so my ideal audience would be 10-12 year olds. Here’s
